Buying The Right Engagement Ring
Sunday, December 7th, 2008 | Wedding
Finding and buying the right engagement ring can be a very stressful task. Questions you ask yourself is what should I get her, what will she like, how much can I afford? All are valid questions for getting that special engagement ring but there are a few things you need to think about first.
In the 21st century, getting married unfortunately has a different value than what it had 20 years ago. All too often after the first 2 or so arguments, the D word comes up. Yes I mean Divorce.
Guys, if you know and feel that you love your girl more than anything in the world and would rather die then to live without her AND she feels the same way about you. Then spending whatever amount of money for your engagement ring and wedding ring would be well worth it.
Princess Cut diamond engagement rings are every girls favorite. The cut of the ring and the quality of the diamond is something that royalty would even appreciate.
The price range for a Princess Cut diamond ring varies quite a bit but expect to spend at least $2,000 on the low side. Anything less than that would be considered cheap and your fiance may read into that. On the high side a Princess Cut engagement ring could be $2,000,000.00. Yep that’s 2 million dollars. I am pretty sure that most guys would not even say, damn I wish I could buy that. Buying a ring at that price without being able to have a family of 6 living in it is just crazy.
What you need to do is visit your local jeweler and get a feel for what type of Princess Cut engagement ring or wedding ring you like. Look at the cut, carrots, style and bling. Once you know this and the price, go online and look for the same thing. Chances are you will get a better deal online. Keep in mine that brick and mortar jewelry stores has rent and employees to pay so they have to add more to the product.
Remember that a Princess Cut Diamond Ring is for those who are going to get married for life and they know it.

Seen this post on answers.yahoo.com that may help some of you guys when thinking about buying a princess cut engagement ring.
“Actually prince cut diamond is less expense than the round at the same carat wt. Its not the cut that ultimately determine the price it is the grade of the diamond. The more clarity the higher it is. Meaning. You can get a princess cut diamond for $300 but it has impurities (visible cuts cracks along the stone and faucet–which affects the brillance (shine)) So you want to tell your friend to sit down with a jewler at a store and have them show with the scope the differences in the stones. Also, tell your friend to take in consideration the activities she does, because there are different prong settings. The price is also affected if you’re going to get the ring it self in yellow gold 18k or 21 or white gold (which needs re dipping atleast every one to two year in rhodium because there no such thing as white gold) or platinum which is sturdy material but is less shiny and needs to be buffed more often because lack of scratch resistance. One more thing. Be sure he takes in account the seasonhe is getting the ring. If he’s buying it now in the winter months and giving it later. Fingers tend to be smaller in cold seasons than in warmer.”
